Taking part in National Careers Week 2021

As part of National Careers Week 2021 we have engaged in a number of activities with local education partners to promote careers in construction.

Bradley and Chloe spoke at a HeppSY employer insight event on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Trainee Business and Marketing Assistant Bradley Longford and Administrator Chloe Goddard held a virtual employer insights session with HeppSY. Bradley and Chloe spoke about their own paths into construction, as well as wider roles that are available in the industry and finished with an interactive Q&A.

We also took up a virtual stand in the See It Be It in Sheffield pavilion as part of the Up Festival Careers Fair with Sheffield College and Sheffield City Council. The event was open to all students and unemployed young people in Sheffield and our virtual stand gave visitors more information on the sector and roles available through a live chat function.

On Wednesday, Bradley and Chloe filmed a careers video for Barnsley Council in which they spoke about how job roles fit in with a wider project and the different paths that can be taken into construction. They also ran a virtual session with Oasis Academy Don Valley which allowed the students to hear about a day in the life of a construction professional.

Bradley finished the week with a virtual presentation to year 7 to year 9 students at Oasis Academy Wintringham discussing his role in YAAN and promoting apprenticeships.

As part of HeppSY National Careers Week 2021, Bradley and Chloe delivered an insightful session and live Q&A, highlighting their own career journey and pathways into the industry.

The talk was informative and interesting, and the live Q&A perfectly summed up all of the opportunities that are available to young people. Thanks again for being involved in HeppSY NCW 2021.
