Supporting the Mayor of Barnsley's chosen charities

We were delighted to support the chosen charities of Cllr Caroline Makinson, who was elected as Barnsley’s new Mayor in October 2020.

We have donated £500 to TADS and £500 to Beacon South Yorkshire

One of the Mayor’s duties during their time in office is to support charities within the town, and Cllr Makinson has highlighted TADS and Beacon South Yorkshire as charities in need of support. Like a lot of charitable organisations, they have both experienced a loss in fundraising opportunities due to the pandemic, whilst also experiencing an increase in demand for their services.

To support the two great causes, we have donated £500 to TADS, who provide mental health support and therapy to children and young people in Barnsley. They are currently supporting approximately 100 children in Barnsley through counselling and wellbeing sessions.

We also donated £500 to Beacon South Yorkshire which is a carer support service to people who care for others with mental health issues, addiction, dementia and physical disabilities.

We are proud to support these two local charities that have been specially selected by the Mayor of Barnsley. They have been selected for their provision of vital services in the community.

Henry Boot have been extremely generous in their donation of £500 to each of my two chosen charities. These donations will go a long way towards supporting the charities in the fantastic work they do.

Henry Boot have once again evidenced the charitable ethos of the company to support the residents of Barnsley who are most in need.
