Success at The Sheffield College’s Apprenticeship Celebration Awards

Our work with hosting and promoting apprenticeships has led to us being presented with the Employer of the Year award at the 2022 Apprenticeship Celebration Awards, hosted by The Sheffield College.

Taking place last night at Kelham Island in Sheffield, the awards celebrate the incredible achievements of apprentices and their employers across the region. The winners came from a variety of backgrounds including law, finance and social care.

The Apprenticeships Celebration Awards were founded last year and celebrate the achievements of apprentices and employers in the region.

We were nominated for the award by our Trainee Technician Stacey Clasper, who currently works on our Headingley Learning Centre project for West Oaks SEN in Leeds. Stacey is also the Chair of the Sheffield Novus group within the CIOB.

Stacey said: “I am delighted that the company has been recognised with this award by The Sheffield College. I chose the apprenticeship route for a complete career change, and everybody at Henry Boot has been so supportive with my learning so I had to nominate the company for this award. There is a great network here of people who are completing and have successfully completed apprenticeships, allowing for a great shared experience.”

As somebody who joined the business as an apprentice back in 1985, I am extremely proud that we have received this Employer of the Year award.

We have apprentices across our business, all providing a valuable contribution to the success of their project or department. The number of colleagues we have who went down the apprenticeship route into successful careers is also testament to the hands-on training this provides.
