Students to gain invaluable on-site experiences in Barnsley

Following the introduction of T Levels, at the start of the 2019 academic year, we will be providing 45-day work experience placements to students from Barnsley College undertaking a T Level course.

T levels are a new route for school leavers to take after they finish their GCSE’s. Developed in collaboration with employers, T-levels offer students a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience during an industry placement.

We have previously worked in partnership with Barnsley College to provide work experience placements for Level 3 Construction & the Built Environment students on site in Barnsley. Their time spent on-site showed students first-hand experience of life on a construction site, with each two-week placement giving insights in the Commercial, Project Management, Design & Planning Departments roles on the Met Centre and new Library @ the Lightbox.

On behalf of the staff here at Barnsley College, I wish to express my gratitude to you for taking students on placement this academic year. There is no substitute for work experience and your help is much appreciated.
