Sunday 16 December saw The Better Together Project host their fourth annual Christmas party, sponsored by Henry Boot.
The event, held at The Mowbray in Sheffield, provides companionship for elderly people in Sheffield who might otherwise be spending Christmas alone.

The volunteers helped in all aspects of the event, from serving food, to acting as table companions for guests
As well as a delicious free lunch, guests were given gifts that had been donated by people and organisations, and were treated to live music from four different groups. A ‘freebie’ table on the day also had donated gifts/second hand items for the guests to take away. Twelve employees from the Henry Boot Group volunteered to help make the day a success. Many guests commented on how special the event was and how much it meant to them.
The Better Together lunch was a great success, it really reminded you what Christmas is all about, companionship, friendship, good food and shared memories. I shall never forget dancing to New York, New York with a bunch of elderly people all kicking their legs having a ball - it was fabulous!
