NFB Report on low carbon set to reshape construction industry

On Monday the National Federation of Builders (NFB) released their ‘Transforming Construction for a Low Carbon Future’ report which will redefine the industry’s approach to net zero carbon emissions.

The report was written by the NFB’s Major Contractors Group, a board of representatives including our Operations Director Tony Shaw. All representatives are firms who are members of the NFB and have a turnover of over £40m.

The report sets out opportunities to move forward and how to transform construction to meet the government’s target for net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The report states that construction industry represents 10% of UK carbon emissions and directly influences 47% of all national emissions through our work, meaning companies need to commit to transforming their businesses and drive change through their supply chains and clients.

The full report can be viewed here.

It was encouraging to see the repot being launched to an appreciative audience. As responsible citizens and businesses, we can all make choices that support a low carbon future and we can all play our part. We all have a great responsibility and the opportunity to influence this future and we need to take action now to drive change through collaboration with our clients and supply chain.
