MV55 ready for business

We have now completed construction of a new high-quality 55,000 sq. ft warehouse MV55 at Markham Vale for HBD.

Located in a highly prominent position alongside the M1, the warehouse also includes flexible open plan office space, with a high-quality floor space suitable for companies specialising in manufacturing or distribution. A fully furnished ground floor lobby/core, first floor kitchenette completes the facilities, along with a 50-space car park, cycle shelter, recycling compound and two dock levellers.

Prior to the build, ground stabilisation was undertaken, creating cost savings and providing improved ground conditions for the temporary works. The project received a BREEAM rating of ‘Good’ and achieved a 98.7% recycling score, exceeding the target of 97%.

Markham Vale is a flagship industrial scheme which is a joint venture between HBD and Derbyshire County Council. Located on the former colliery site, the regeneration has ensured more people are employed in the area than when it was a working coal mine. The new MV55 building provides  much-needed good quality industrial space, supporting the expansion and development of Yorkshire businesses.

We’re delighted that work has completed on this latest development at our flagship regeneration site, Markham Vale. Supporting businesses and bringing quality jobs to Derbyshire are key priorities of ours and we look forward to welcoming a new company into this space very soon.

Councillor Tony King, Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet

MV55 is a high-quality build which was carefully designed to meet occupier needs based on our experience delivering more than 30 units at Markham Vale - all high-spec and designed to keep energy and maintenance costs low. There is an acute shortage of good quality industrial stock across Yorkshire and the East Midlands, particularly for buildings between 20,000 and 100,000 sq ft, so MV55 injects much-needed space into the market.
