Hosting Whittam Cox Architects students on Kangaroo Works

We recently welcomed students from Whittam Cox Architects to our Kangaroo Works project, giving them a site tour to provide insight to an extensive project in the construction phase.

The tour was arranged by our Senior Project Manager Dave Goddard and Associate Director at Whittam Cox Architects, Corinne Hall and gave the apprentices and students a great opportunity to see behind the hoardings on a scheme designed by their practice.

Kangaroo Works will see the creation of 365 high-quality apartments, at a peak of 14 storeys
John Renshaw (far left) and Corinne Hall (far right) showed students from Whittam Cox Architects others around the extensive project

Project Safety Manager John Renshaw was on hand to field any construction-related questions and spoke about the great progress being made including the rising concrete frame and internal fit-out works to different areas on the site.

Other areas for discussion were the impressive design, installation methods and how our experienced site team how have overcome challenges presented to them so far.

Kangaroo Works is a design and build project for JV partners Angelo Gordon and Ridgeback Group which will see the creation of 365 high-quality residential apartments and five commercial units in Sheffield city centre.

It was great to be able to share our progress and lessons learned with our students and apprentices, and we received some excellent questions. The site offers a great learning opportunity with different stages of construction and fit-out on display. We look forward to watching its progression over the coming year, thank you to Henry Boot Construction for hosting us!
