Game changing project The Glass Works wins fourth award

Our work on The Glass Works Phase 1 has received another award, this time at the Yorkshire Property Awards held last week.

The project won a Game Changer award which celebrates projects which have had a material effect on the surrounding environment or on the market and show excellence in conception, design and execution. The award also highlights the collaborative efforts of everyone involved in the project for Barnsley Council, including NPS Barnsley, IBI, Mott MacDonald and Turner & Townsend.

The judges said, “the quality of submissions in the Game Changer category were some of the best we have received, with this year’s winners showing off the crème de la crème of property achievements in Yorkshire”.

We’re delighted that Henry Boot has won this prestigious award – it’s testament to its staff’s ongoing commitment and hard work through the first phase of the regeneration of the town centre. We worked hard as a council alongside Henry Boot to ensure market traders could carry on trading through the refurbishment of the Metropolitan Centre, and the town is now reaping the rewards with our fantastic new market which opened last year.

The Game Changer Award marks the 4th award win for The Glass Works Phase 1 which has also received two regional CIOB awards for Social Value and a CIOB Collaboration Award. Held at Harrogate’s Rudding Park Hotel, the event also honoured Henry Boot PLC CEO John Sutcliffe who won Property Personality of the Year.
