Craig on work winning: securing a place on the new MoJ framework

Craig Finn, Director, shares his thoughts on the importance of framework membership, partnering and shared values:

As a company that prides itself on driving economic growth, creating new jobs and developing talent, we are delighted to have been appointed to the Ministry of Justice’s (MoJ) new Constructor Services Framework.

A huge amount of hard work goes into securing our place on a framework and I am extremely proud of the hard work and expertise of our bid team. With only five contractors named in the North England and Wales and Central England £5m-£10m value band lots, this is great recognition of our outstanding track record for quality of service and delivery. We have a strong track record delivering MoJ schemes under previous frameworks and by securing our place on the new Constructor Services Framework we are looking forward to continuing to develop this mutually beneficial partnership.

Successful collaboration with the public sector and winning work through these frameworks has been at the heart of our service delivery for 20 years and has seen us work on game-changing projects for local authorities, the NHS, emergency services, schools and universities, housing associations and more.

Craig says collaboration is the key to unlocking the potential of frameworks such as this one
We have been appointed to the lots of North England and Central England and Wales, with project values of £5m to £10m

Over the years, we’ve demonstrated our commitment to proactive partnerships and have supported the modernisation of local and central Government frameworks – particularly around social value, skills development and staff wellbeing. I am hugely proud that we have once again been deemed ‘framework-fit’ and continue to appeal to the procuring public bodies. All our people have a unified determination to continuously evolve our own processes, resources and culture to ensure we are efficiently delivering the best possible solutions for our customers.

Henry Boot is a true team player and we are committed to making our public sector customers’ lives easier and providing tangible results which go far beyond bricks and mortar. The MoJ is known as a champion of sustainable development and modern methods of construction, as well as promoting significant social value results within projects. This chimes perfectly with what we are doing as a business and our wider values.

Being on significant frameworks such as the MoJ’s supports us and our supply chain with longer-term planning. It provides confidence and reassurance that a strong pipeline of work is available to us over the next half a decade. From a skills perspective, this enables us to attract and retain more talent, create new jobs for the region, upskill workers and play a role in driving economic growth in Yorkshire and the north of England. It also allows us to invest in new innovative technology – such as our hybrid power systems that provide sustainable and efficient power to our sites with significantly decreased emission levels.

We are committed to being a true market leader in social value and leaving a lasting legacy in the communities in which we work. This includes a focus on educating the next generation of construction workers, promoting gender equality in the sector, and sponsoring local charities and worthy community projects.

Many of our people live in these communities themselves and we have a dedicated approach to supporting their development and wellbeing, with a number of initiatives introduced to provide support to our people, including physical health check-ups, agile working hours, drink and drug awareness programmes, financial advice and mental health talks.

We find our proven experience, dedicated values and highly skilled teams make us a hugely appealing proposition to local authorities and the public sector, as it helps them align with our brand and showcase their progressive values.

What comes next

Winning a place on this Framework is only the beginning. We now look forward to bidding for key projects worth between £5m and £10m in the procurement lots. No doubt, our exemplar work in the construction sector will provide confidence for the MoJ to see us as one of their go-to contractors for the next half a decade and beyond.

We’re immensely proud of what we’re achieving and it’s equally important for us to work alongside those who share our core values and wider vision.
