Bradley and Melissa ready to get started at the hopscotch World Record attempt

On Wednesday 10 July, it was confirmed that Move More Sheffield had set a new Guinness World Record for ‘the most people playing hopscotch simultaneously'.

As one of the sponsors of the record attempt, colleagues Bradley Longford and Melissa Walsh were delighted to join in to the event at the Fly DSA Arena in June. In total, 664 people from local schools and businesses across Sheffield helped to beat the previous record of 621 set by Satilla School in the United States. See the confirmation on the Guinness World Record website.

Joining in the hopscotch World Record attempt was really fun and brought back memories of primary school. It was great to be part of the event and to encourage people to get active as part of Move More Sheffield.

The event signalled the start of Move More Month which saw teams compete in the Workplace Challenge to earn the most ‘active minutes’. The Henry Boot team consisting of 26 colleagues from Henry Boot PLC, Henry Boot Developments, Henry Boot Construction and Banner Plant managed to achieve an impressive 37,446 minutes in total.
