Achieving our highest ever score with the Considerate Constructors Scheme

Following a virtual inspection at The Glass Works by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), we are delighted to have received our highest ever score and another Certificate of Excellence.

Our project team at The Glass Works in Barnsley

The second phase of the Barnsley project is registered as an ‘Ultra Site’, meaning it is held to a higher criteria standard by the CCS. The latest inspection scored 45 out of 50, our highest ever inspection score with the scheme.

We received full marks in all of the five core sections; Care about Appearance, Respect the Community, Protect the Environment, Care about Safety and Value their Workforce.

The CCS monitor said the project ‘continues to make exceptional efforts to consider their impact of the neighbours and public’ and ‘provides an exceptional supportive and caring working environment’ whilst continuing to ‘contribute to and support the local community and businesses’.

We were also praised for our engagement with local education partners, which has seen us deliver over 300 educational site visits since the project began.

This truly exceptional score is testament to all the hard work and care of the team at The Glass Works. They have consistently achieved very high scores throughout the duration of the project and I’d to thank everyone for their dedication and efforts.

This achievement follows our success with the first phase of The Glass Works. Forming part of the project, the new Library @ The Lightbox received a Silver Award in 2019 at CCS’ National Site Awards and went one better last year, receiving a CCS Gold Award.
