These projects, in Manchester, Sheffield and Doncaster, represent a flavour of the work that Henry Boot Construction has carried out recently on high rise tower blocks in the North of England.
Worsley and Platt Court, Manchester (top) – multi-million pound scheme including concrete repairs and internal improvements to 104 flats inoccupied tower blocks. Due to the multicultural make-up of the area, bi-lingual liaison officerswere providedto give additional support tothe community.
Intake external insulated render scheme for St Leger Homes of Doncaster (bottom) as part of a £300m Decent Homes refurbishment scheme rolling out improvements throughout the borough.
Other projects include:
- Silverwood House, Doncaster - external repairs and window replacement to improve this town-centre tower block with 63 occupied flats.
- Netherthorpe, Sheffield - £20m of internal and external refurbishments of 9 towers blocks containing 432 occupied flatsin Sheffield city centre.Firstprojectin the UK whererain screen cladding was installed on tenanted properties.
- £20m of additional work to flats in Leeds, Hull and Blackburn.
