Mixed-use outdoor activity centre built in the shell of a historic barn in Darley Park, part of the Derwent Mills World Heritage Site in Derby.

The £600k regeneration project is set on the former site of Darley Park Abbey. Many historic artefacts were found during the works, and the team worked closely with local historic societies to ensure they were safely removed and preserved.

Artisan building techniques were employed inside the building, and a traditional canoe store was constructed on the north side. This complemented the modern steel frame, curved Plastisol roof and oak glazed panel construction.

The centre offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits including canoeing, orienteering and environmental activities to the public and private sectors.
