£8m new build Clinical Sciences building and Medical School in the grounds of Derby City General Hospital.

Working to HTM specification to deliver a three storey mixed use facility comprising of a 20,000 sq ft new Medical School building for the University of Nottingham and a 4,000 sq ft annexe housing the Clinical Services department.

The initial contract period of 56 weeks was reduced to 53 weeks and handover to the client was achieved ahead of programme.

Working within the grounds of a busy city general hospital provided unique challenges for the site team, and many elements of the construction were moved off site to ease pressure, including an off-site concrete batching facility.
