About Us

Corporate & Social Responsibility

We make sure that the way that we manage our business has an overall positive impact upon society and the environment by focusing on ‘Local People, Local Communities'.

We strongly believe in:

  • Equality and Diversity within the workforce
  • Creating local jobs for local people
  • Leaving a legacy for the community
  • Using local suppliers and subcontractors
  • Working with charities and community groups
  • Considering the public interest in our corporate decision making process

We invest heavily in a number of local charitable projects, including the South Yorkshire Community Foundation and national charity Catch 22's 'Steps to Success' programme in the Sheffield area. We support community groups and local charities wherever we work, to ensure we leave a lasting positive impact in those areas - see our news section for regular updates.

We are committed to training and developing our workforce, and employ apprentices including Construction JobMatch trainees on a number of our sites. We have a strong local labour force and believe in investing in the local economy. Our equality and diversity working group identifies and implements actions to ensure diversity throughout our employment and training schemes.

We pride ourselves on creating partnering relationships with both local and national clients, providing our local supply chain with both stability and continuity of work over sustained periods. We are committed to the development of supplier diversity programmes through our customers’ schemes and our own in-house practices. We believe in ethical and sustainable procurement at all levels.

Through identifying individual clients’ values and objectives we can focus our initiatives into apprenticeships, job creation, supporting local groups and working together to ensure that wherever we work, the local community benefits.

"Henry Boot’s improvements are amazing. It’s so good to be able to walk into the porch and see the way it’s been restored to its former glory."

"It means a lot to us as a company to put something back into the area in which we have grown and developed."
