The £4 million Fountain Court project in Doncaster included the design and build of a new business park adjacent to Doncaster Sheffield Airport. The development includes 41 self-contained environmentally sustainable office units in configurations of two, three and four unit blocks.

The 1,450 - 6,100 sq. ft. units have a masonry structure under a mono-pitched roof, with insulated masonry cavity walls which are finished with profiled powder-coated metal cladding and sustainable wood.

Innovation was crucial to the 40 week development and the units are oriented to capture the best natural light, with layout configurations developed through use of BIM profiling and 3D imagery.

The sustainability principle has been used throughout, reducing the carbon footprint of the scheme, as well as leading to whole
life cost savings for the occupiers. Thick thermal insulation and a heat recovery ventilation system improves heat loss and maintains the recycling process.

Some adjacent units can be merged together to form larger units, with steelwork and knockout panels incorporated into the wall structure to facilitate this and meet the needs of a variety of different organisations.

The completed project achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.

“Workpods Limited are extremely pleased with the development and there is now significant interest from potential occupiers for the units, with several units already sold or under offer. Workpods have been very impressed with Henry Boot Construction’s approach to this project and we are very pleased with the standard of finish achieved.”
