Drakehouse Retail Park, Sheffield – New Units and Refurbishments
- High-Voltage overhead power lines
- Close interface with public
- Short mobilisation periods
HBC has worked on a number of projects at the Drakehouse Retail Park, Sheffield for their repeat client Hammerson PLC.
Recently completed projects include a new-build Maplin Electronics store and the remodelling of the former Focus DIY store into two new units.
The Maplin project involved the construction of steel frame, brick and cladding retail unit to a shell specification, working closely with National Grid due to the proximity of overhead power lines.
The Focus project saw the former DIY store stripped out and split into two new units in a short programme period to allow the client to market two separate properties on the estate.
Previous projects include the creation of the Homebase store, with extended exterior garden centre area and partial remodelling of the adjoining unit.
“It has been a pleasure working with Henry Boot. They achieved Practical Completion on time and on budget and most importantly given that they were working underneath high voltage overhead cables, the project has been completed safely.”
Mark Elliott, Elliot Project Management (for Hammerson PLC)
