Henry Boot undertook a 22 week phased programme of internal refurbishment to the Collegiate Learning Centre. The £1.4million project provided ground and first floor teaching spaces, library areas and IT suites.

The building remained fully operational and accessible throughout the scheme. Out of hours working was incorporated into the programme to limit disruption to the building’s occupiers and the local community.

The fifth phase was a full design and build package. The design was taken from RIBA Stage D, with in-house resources provided by Henry Boot’s design and build and structural teams. This provided an integrated and team focussed approach, in order to mitigate any issues relating to this type of refurbishment project.

In collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University’s approved supply chain partners, Henry Boot Construction project managed the AV team during the installation of IT related equipment, including projectors and touch screen monitors.

Extensive mechanical and electrical infrastructure works were undertaken, including a new air handler and chiller unit which has an enclosure to minimise noise pollution to local residents.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your efforts and commend you on your excellent performance. Feedback received from our Project Team and internal Health and Safety Department has been excellent.”
