The new all-weather pitch and pavilion for the University of Hull officially opened on 22 August 2017.

Joined by special guests from Hull City Football Club and local boxer Tommy Coyle, the £3.5 million development was opened to the public. The development includes floodlit third generation (3G) artificial grass pitches, as well as a sports pavilion with changing rooms, classrooms and a physiotherapy room. The new facilities will provide top quality, year-round facilities for sports participation at the University of Hull.

The hub forms part of a wider £16 million investment programme in sport at the University, which will also deliver a 12-court sports hall, 120-station fitness suite, the resurfacing of all pitches and the creation of a new strength and conditioning suite by summer 2018.

“We are really pleased to have been involved in this project which provides top class facilities which will enhance the experience of people playing the sport in Hull”

Tony Shaw, Operations Director, Henry Boot Construction
