Manchester City CouncilPiccadilly Gardens Fountain

Henry Boot Construction has been appointed by Manchester City Council as the principal contractor through the North West Construction Hub (NWCH) framework to undertake works on the fountain in Piccadilly Gardens.

The construction works commenced earlier this month to be phased over a 20 week period, starting with the removal of the existing tank from the ground, followed by the casting of a new reinforced concrete tank. The project will be delivered in partnership with PP O’Connor appointed to undertake demolition works and The Fountain Company on mechanical and electrical works.

The on-site team will include Alan Bunting and Hannah Lowe to ensure high standards of quality and health and safety are maintained. There will be a 250m hoarding around the construction site to minimise disruption to the surrounding area.

Tony Shaw, Operations Director at Henry Boot Construction said:

“This is a high profile city centre site and we are pleased to be a part of this important project. We look forward to working with Manchester City Council and key delivery partners over the coming months to ensure its successful implementation with minimal disruption to this very active space.”
