Henry Boot Construction conducted the topping out event on 6 April at the St Wilfrid’s Centre in Sheffield.  The ceremony was held to commemorate the completion of the roof.  In a traditional manner the site team found it fitting to present the client with a tree to symbolise both growth and good luck.

The topping out ceremony was a milestone not only for St Wilfrid’s but also for those who will benefit from utilising the facilities and accommodation as well as those who have supported and donated to their cause.

The St Wilfrid’s project is a residential building comprising of 20 self-contained flats with communal spaces.  The new flats will improve the quality of life for Sheffield’s vulnerable people and the homeless and is a short walk away from the existing St Wilfrid’s day centre.

The project is due to be completed Summer 2016.

“New heights were reached by attendees at the traditional topping out ceremony at St Wilfrid’s.  All of the design team were present to commemorate the completion of the roof works.”

Adam Houlston, Project Manager, Henry Boot Construction
