Launch of the Made in Barnsley programme for schools – 24/06/16

Horizon Community College

On 24 May 2016, Adeana Raper attended a meeting at Horizon Community College to assist in the launch of the Made in Barnsley programme, in Barnsley schools.

Commencing in September, the Made in Barnsley programme is a partnership involving schools, Henry Boot Construction, Barnsley healthcare services, manufacturing businesses and training providers. It aims to give students from Barnsley a taste of work across different sectors and equip them with skills and competencies that will lead on to improved employment opportunities.

Adeana said of the programme’s launch, “This is a great opportunity for students in Year 9 and 10 to embark on a relationship with local businesses that will give them the knowledge to make informed decisions about their future career goals. By working with local businesses and their schools, students will have access to the support and guidance needed to ensure future success in the work life.”
