Surplus Materials Donated to Voluntary Action Charity in Barnsley – 01/07/16

Voluntary Action Barnsley

Henry Boot Construction have donated three wagon loads of surplus materials to a charity in Barnsley from our Fox Valley development, in Stocksbridge.

Voluntary Action Barnsley (VA) are the leading infrastructure charity based in central Barnsley. They work with volunteers and other charities, accepting volunteers and donations from companies for use on community projects, such as allotments, gardens or professional services, including surveys of community buildings.

The donation of block paving, bricks, paving slabs and other materials will be used and distributed to community groups or schools and growing projects in the Barnsley and Penistone area. These groups generally encourage healthy eating and the growth of fresh produce through allotments, as well as helping people to develop learning experiences.

“We were really pleased to be in a position to support Voluntary Action Barnsley. They do great work in the local community and will no doubt put our donation of materials to good use.”

Tony Shaw, Director, Henry Boot Construction Limited

“I would like to say a massive thank you on behalf of Voluntary Action Barnsley to you and the team for your kind donations of surplus goods from the site. They will certainly be put to good use over the next few months on community projects.”

Martin Sugden, Business Liaison Manager, Employer Supported Volunteering, Voluntary Action Barnsley
