Project Manager, Gareth Wagstaffe, and the site team invited a group of trainees from Watson Batty Architects to visit our flagship Extra Care Housing scheme at Yeadon, near Leeds.

The trainees appreciated the concrete frame, associated details and construction methods on site for which they had involvement in the design back at the office.  This was an excellent opportunity for them to gain some valuable experience of the project in progress.  The trainees are looking forward to future visits towards the completion of the project.

The 45 self-contained apartments will be the first Leeds City Council owned and managed, extra care housing scheme in the city.  The development comprises of 18 one bedroom, 27 two bedroom apartments and a range of vibrant communal and outdoor spaces.

“I have assisted in the production of drawing packages for the project, so it was extremely beneficial to see these items been constructed on site.  Henry Boot Construction’s, Project Manager Gareth Wagstaffe also provided an insight into the practicalities and sequencing of works on site.  I look forward to visiting again once the building is water tight.”
