Communications College

Henry Boot Construction’s Civil Engineering department has played host to a student from the Communications College in Doncaster at our Fox Valley, Stocksbridge redevelopment.

The college offers an individualised learning environment where a unique approach is used for learners 16+ who have deafness/hearing impairment and or specific communication and language needs including those who have an autistic spectrum condition.

The site team provided Liam with a range of activities to show him the scope of construction work occurring on site, including flood defences, site levelling, retaining walls and general construction work.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the week on site and felt I’ve learned a lot during this time. It has provided me with an appreciation of the complexities of construction projects and design considerations. It has also confirmed my interest in the construction industry and I plan to pursue a career in this field. I would like to thank Henry Boot and the staff on site for providing me this opportunity.”
