Mick Wake completes his first marathon for The Willow Foundation – 17/10/14

Willow Foundation
Mick Wake Marathon

Henry Boot Construction Project Manager, Mick Wake, has recently completed his first marathon. He ran the Baxter’s Lock Ness Marathon on the 28th September to raise funds for ‘The Willow Foundation – Have a Special Day’ Appeal which supports families of seriously ill people that attend hospitals such as Weston Park. The Foundation is the only UK charity that supports seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds by providing unique and positive ‘Special Days’.

Mick’s ambitious goal was to complete the route in less than 4 hours with him actually finishing impressively for his first marathon in 4 hours and 20 minutes but, more importantly, raising £1,000 for The Willow Foundation.

If you would like to support Mick you can still donate by visiting the following JustGiving page - https://www.justgiving.com/Mick-Wake/

“I honestly ask myself why I decided to complete my first marathon at 50, but I set myself a goal to lose weight, then a goal to complete a marathon and The Willow Foundation charity is such an incredible charity to support”
I’ve got the marathon bug now, I’m even thinking of entering the Burley Marathon next year.”
