Henry Boot Construction’s Eastern Division has recently completed the high quality 1560m2 office and workspace project for Manor Development Company, a registered charity who promote the regeneration of the Manor area of Sheffield through improving social inclusion, encouraging local businesses, creating employment opportunities and providing activities for local people in their community space.

The build comprises of a concrete framed basement, ground and 1st floor. The second floor and roof are of a timber frame construction. Enveloped in composite Kingspan cladding, the facade has the added security of perforated aluminium rain screen cladding that opens to reveal full length folding aluminium, glazed doors.

Internally, the building has a rustic feel, with power floated concrete floor slabs, exposed block work and walls are clad in birch boarding with exposed roof timbers.

The project was constructed to the rear of the existing development, at the Alison Business Centre. In order to access the new site, a new road bridge over the public footway has been constructed, including a car park, paved areas and soft landscaping.

Works started in November 2012and completed in late January 2014.

“The project was both conceptual and complex in nature which brought about several challenges for the site team.  We are really pleased with the outcome and we look forward to seeing it put to full use with employment opportunities brought about through local SME’s”
