The BiG Challenge
Key Stage 4 Joint First
Key Stage 4 Third

Henry Boot Construction’s Simon Carr and Adeana Raper recently attended the BiG Challenge Award Ceremony 2014. The award is part of the BiG Enterprise programme, which has been created to teach children the importance of entrepreneurial skills.

Teams from each educational establishment are provided with £25 from which to start and grow a business of their choice. Prizes were awarded to the 10 most successful businesses; whilst profit mattered judges also looked at ideas and methods used together with their team work and enthusiasm.

HBC sponsored the Key Stage 4 Awards which Adeana presented.  The overall winners were “Aroma Blossom” from Tapton, Key Stage 4 Joint winners “dTangler” from All Saints Catholic School and “Harvey Morton IT Support” from Meadowhead School and the runner up was “Tech-Vid” also from Meadowhead School.

"Henry Boot started from humble beginnings over 125 years ago. The founder of the company was a visionary making the company what it is today.  We need to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs, to be the employers of tomorrow and to ensure that the City continues to grow.  By being part of the BiG Challenge, Henry Boot Construction is encouraging young people to establish new businesses and, who knows, their business might be still here in 125 years."
