Tropo Set To Install Ground Source Heat Pumps For Berneslai Homes – 19/07/13

Pendon House

Tropo, H.B.C.'s Renewables Division, is set to install ground source heat pumps for Berneslai Homes’ sheltered housing complex, Pendon House in Barnsley.

After completing a feasibility study, which included thermal capacity testing, earlier in the year, Tropo were awarded the second phase of work based on the results - the design and installation of a ground source heat pump scheme.

Pendon House is a sheltered housing complex comprising one bedsit, ten one bedroom flats and two two bedroom flats with communal areas and circulation spaces.

The installation will ensure that Pendon House meets the requirements of the Renewable Heat Incentive. Work will start on site at the end of July and is expected to take 14 weeks to complete.

“We will be replacing the existing gas fired boiler plant, that currently supplies the residents of Pendon House with heating and hot water, with a closed loop ground source heat pump scheme.”
