Aggregate Industries asphalt plant awarded 20/11/12

Henry Boot Construction’s Civil Engineering Division will install the foundations for a new aggregate and asphalt plant for Aggregate Industries UK Ltd at their site in Tinsley this winter.

Once operational, the plant will include a new rail offloading and storage system, asphalt production plant and associated facilities at the site in North Sheffield.

Aggregate Industries are working alongside Amey PLC to deliver the ‘Streets Ahead’ highways maintenance framework for Sheffield City Council.

The Tinsley plant will be key to the delivery of more than 1.5 million tonnes of tarmacadam within the 5 year core investment period.

HBC is also working alongside Amey, delivering a number of structures projects under the same framework.

The 26-week programme is due for completion in April 2013.

“We look forward to working with Aggregate Industries to deliver this top-class facility in the north of Sheffield. The new plant is vital for the delivery of the Streets Ahead scheme, which we are pleased to be working on with Aggregate Industries and Amey PLC.”
