Fundraising football fun – 28/06/12
A football team from Henry Boot Construction took part in the Master Cutler’s Challenge Cup recently, raising money for Cavendish Cancer Care along the way.
The team finished a valiant third in the league, beating contemporaries from Kier, Vinci, Turner Townsend and CPW at the event at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough football ground.
Unfortunately, NG Bailey and Evolution put in a superior performance on the day, but everyone had fun and raised vital funds for the charity, which is the Master Cutler’s nominated charity of the year.
HBC’s team featured L-R: (Top) Richard Tingle, Dean Cowling, Stephen Bayston, Tony Shaw, Adam Houlston, Alex Cairns, (Bottom) John Sales, Chris Connor, Tom Boot and Ryan Spencer.
“We are always pleased to support local charities and although we missed out on the top spot the team put in a great performance on the day.”
Tony Shaw, Eastern Regional Manager, Henry Boot Construction
