Country park bridge works delivered ahead of programme – 21/02/12

Cotgrave Bridge

Henry Boot Civil Engineering has just finished installing a bridge over the Grantham Canal as it passes through Cotgrave Country Park in Nottinghamshire.

The 10-tonne feature was installed ahead of programme and to the great satisfaction of Nottinghamshire County Council, who were very impressed with health and safety standards on site.

The bridge is constructed of hardwood panels, steel section bracing, steel beams and locally sourced stone and works began early in the New Year.

Cotgrave Country Park includes woodland, wetland, lakes and grassland areas - with five kilometres of paths and trails the bridge will provide vital access to users of the facility for years to come.

“The County Council are very pleased with the bridge and the quality of the work done. The scheme went smoothly and was completed ahead of programme with minimal inconvenience to users of the country park. Attention to Health and Safety was especially noteworthy.”
