Foundations package for Lytag lightweight aggregate plant awarded – 28/08/12

Henry Boot Construction’s Civil Engineering department has just won a contract to build reinforced concrete foundations and undertake associated works for the construction of a new lightweight aggregate process plant, owned and operated by Lytag Ltd, at the Drax Power Station site, North Yorkshire.

The works, sub-contracted by Fairport Engineering Ltd, will enable the construction of a new Lytag lightweight aggregate plant, which converts pulverised fuel ash (a by-product of coal-burning power stations) into a versatile, lightweight aggregate.

Works start on site this month, with completion by Christmas 2012.

Commenting on the contract award, Ian Gresser, Commercial Manager of Henry Boot Construction Civils said: “We are pleased to announce our contract for the Lytag lightweight aggregate plant at the Drax Power Station site and look forward to delivering an excellent project for our client, Fairport Engineering and for Lytag.”
