Outstanding Considerate Constructor’s Scheme report for Intake site - 27/07/11
A Henry Boot Construction Eastern Division site has just scored 38 points on their Considerate Constructor’s report due to ‘an outstanding performance with many unique and exceptional features’.
The Intake window and door replacement scheme is being carried out for St Leger Homes of Doncaster, and HBC Considerate Constructor’s Scheme Champion Ryan Spencer has done all he can to make access to the site safe and friendly for local residents.
The site set-up was praised for having user-friendly gates, safety posters on the hoardings that were designed by local children and smoking shelters with quit packs for site operatives.
Strong links with the local community were evident, and given the short duration of the contract works, the assessor was particularly impressed with the relationships created.
Henry Boot Construction is an Associate Member of the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme, and every project has a nominated ‘champion’ who looks at ways of improving the image of our construction sites.
HBC is the only contractor to receive two nominations for ‘Most Considerate Site’ in two consecutive years at the national awards – with scores like these we hope to make it three in a row!
“The extent of community involvement is particularly impressive – it is evident that Ryan has dedicated himself to identifying considerate initiatives which have been totally embraced and implemented by HBC management– well done to the team!”
Kelvin Wigham, JP BSc CEng, Considerate Constructor’s Scheme Assessor
