Improved facilities for Highwoods Community Base – 23/02/11

Henry Boot Construction has just provided and installed a new kitchen, oven and hob at a community centre in Doncaster, to give the hall a new lease of life for community groups.

The Highwoods Community Base caters for children and the elderly, and hosts a variety of activities, including community shows and children’s cookery classes that help promote healthy eating.

The centre is run entirely by volunteers including Councillor Jill Arkley-Jevons, who approached Henry Boot Construction about the refurbishment when she found the company was working in the area.

HBC are currently working on the St Leger Decent Homes programme - having recently completed internal refurbishments, they are now working on external insulated render schemes and re-roofing a number of properties.

“We are always pleased to help community groups where we are carrying out our works, and Highwoods is such a focal point for local people – we hope they enjoy the new facilities.”
