Police dog training at Rawmarsh JSC – 06/12/11

Police Dog

Real life construction site training was given to a trainee Police dog last week, at our Rawmarsh Joint Service Centre project in Rotherham.

Danko the dog is nearly 8 months old and currently undertaking an intensive training regime that will help him to become a working Police dog.

He visited site in with his trainer, Alan Smith, last August and then again last week to gain experience of building sites at different stages of construction.

Alan worked hard on both days hiding various items around site for Danko to find, and both of them found it an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

“It was a pleasure to welcome them on site and we had fun watching Danko being put through his paces on both occasions. It was really interesting to see what rigorous training these dogs are put through before they start work with the Police.”
